What to think about before engraving your wedding ring
When you decide to engrave your wedding band you probably want it to be an extra bit more personal and meaningful.
Most commonly couples are choosing to have their partner's name or both of their names inscribed on the inside band or having the wedding date engraved.
If you and your partner are considering getting your wedding rings engraved, there are some questions you should ask before you make that commitment as the engraving on your ring will be etched on your bands forever...
Why are ring engravings so important for couples?
The significance is surely very different for many people, but there is a common reason: engraving can make the rings extremely personal as others rarely know you have your rings engraved.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE ENGRAVED ON YOUR RING.
Do you want a quote from a song, film, or book that you and your partner cherish? Or do you want a message such as, "eternally yours", "my life began with you", "all I want is a life with you"? There is also the traditional option of having your names engraved on your wedding bands. If you cannot think of anything then we can help come up with a few suggestions.
We have a wide selection of engraving options for you to choose from, with styles ranging from traditional block and script styles to unique fingerprint engravings. You can find out more about our engraving here.
When should you get your ring engraved?
Better to engrave the ring when they are being made, however, there is no problem with having it done at a later date. This is particularly the case if you also want to have your engagement ring engraved.
HAND, LASER, OR MACHINE ENGRAVED?
There are three different types of engraving you can choose from; machine, laser or hand engraving. Engraving by hand will give your wedding rings a more crafted and unique forged feel, machine engraving is much more precise and accurate and laser engraving is much more defined and darker.
