Ring size: a complete guide.

The crucial part in the process of finding a wedding or engagement ring is measuring the right ring size. A perfectly sized engagement ring should be snug but still fits comfortably. The ring should slide onto your finger without issue but provide slight resistance when removed.

How to Measure Ring Size

Once you have found a wedding ring that you like it is important to know the correct ring size to select so that your ring can be worn in comfort. We offer ring sizes from G – Z+4 including half sizes, however, we can make other ring sizes if necessary.

When to Measure Ring Size

Believe it or not, another important point here is to find the right time to measure your ring size.  Your ring finger measuring conditions need to be just right. Warm weather makes our fingers swell, and they tend to shrink from cold weather in the winter. Your fingers can also be swollen when you first wake up, so it's best to get measured around the middle of the day at room temperature for the most accurate, comfortable fit.

Resizing Your Engagement Ring

An engagement ring can be resized a quarter to a half size larger or smaller without affecting the integrity of the ring. Resizing your engagement ring higher than a half size places stress on the ring potentially damaging the prongs. When engagement ring prongs are compromised, it is possible that the pave or center stone diamonds may come loose and/or fall out of the setting.

If you have purchased a ring from us and you are not happy with the way it fits, then we will happily re-size it for a small charge, which is mainly the cost of refinishing the ring and the insured delivery. If you need to know more about our resizing terms press here

In order to help you find your perfect ring size, we offer a couple of services to make the process smooth and right.

Ring size chart

The purpose of the ring size chart is to help you to determine the size of a ring that you already have if you don’t already know the size. You can easily download our ring size chart here.

Metal Ring Sizers

If you are ordering a ring from our diamond, zirconium, titanium, two-tone or decorative ranges (or any other wide ring) we will send you some aluminum metal ring sizers which will be in the same width as the ring(s) you are ordering. This will ensure that you get a perfect fit the first time around.

We will normally send you three sizers – one in the size you have ordered, a size larger, and a size smaller and we will happily send you additional sizers should you need them.

Once you are happy with a ring size simply let us know and we will adjust the order (if necessary) and begin to make your ring(s). We do not charge for sending you the metal ring sizers; however, we would be very grateful if you could send them back to us once you have finished with them.

Plastic Ring Sizer

We will send you via the post a complimentary ring sizer that will help you to determine your correct ring size and comes with full instructions on how to use it. To request a free ring sizer you will need to fill out the contact us form stating your address and that you would like a free ring sizer.
